was born on May 5, 1950 to Robert and Mamie Dixon. He was born and raised in Detroit,
MI. He was the youngest of four children. He was educated in the Detroit Public Schools where he graduated
from Northwestern High School. He later attended and graduated from Madonna College earning his Associate
Degree. After graduating from college he worked at Kelsey Hayes for 2 years. In 1971 he went on to work for
the City of Detroit as a Detroit Police Officer for 23 years.
During his tenure of more than ten-years, Walter C. Dixon was a faithful honorary member of True Rock
Church under the leadership of Pastors Darryl and Dr. Georgan Redmond.
At the age of 16, in 1964 at the Michigan State Fair he met a 14 year old girl named Katherine. In 1970 they
were married and to this union was their one and only beautiful daughter, Consuela Sheree Dixon born in
1972. Of course, she was the apple of both their eyes and spoiled rotten up until the day of their passing.
Daddy was funny all the time. I would tell him he missed his calling. He had a saying for everything and a
nickname for everybody. He had a nickname outside of the pet names; just because. He nicknamed the alarm
clocks “tinker bell” ~ don’t ask me why ~ LOL!!!
Daddy had his favorite spots to eat and drink coffee. He would walk to McDonalds everyday no matter the
weather (unless it was too cold or raining too hard, then I would have to drive him). Daddy had his State Fair
Coney Island family and his Providence Coney Island family. They all called him by his nickname Bob, Bobbie
or Robert. SMH another L.O.L. story to tell.
Daddy loved his Martel until he couldn’t drink anymore due to his health. Anybody that knew him knew he
loved Better Made BBQ chips, donuts, meatloaf, meatballs and last but not least SPAGHETTI!!! He spaghetti
me to the end and back. OMG ~ Daddy also loved the Temptations. He said he should have been one of them.
He told stories of how he would sit on the grass outside of Motown, just to see them coming and going.
On November 28, 2025 at 11:18 p.m., while at home with his daughter, both grandsons Julian and Jaylen, his
brother William Richardson, the Lord called him home. Preceding him in death are both parents. His sisters,
Barbara, Bonnie and brother Robert.
Walter leaves to cherish his memories, his loving daughter, Connie, four grandchildren, Alexandria, Julian
(Kelly), Jaylen and Deja. Three great-grandchildren, Amari, Kayce and Kassidy. Brother William Richardson.
Three bonus sons, Julian Morgan, Charles, II (Ashley) Anderson, Charles III (Theresa) Rice. Two bonus
daughters April (Marcus) Cobb and Lisa Shaw. One best friend Johnny; since the age of 12 years old. A
special Nephew, Lawrence (because they were the same age, grew up together, jumping off roofs while
playing Batman and Robin). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Daddy, how do we adjust to such a “new norm”
You were my rode dog - you see one you see the other
The boys and I will miss you BUT love you always!!!
