Velina and I go way back I met Velina in the early 80's in Cashier Training for the Detroit Public Schools Nutrition Dept.,. She was such a joy to be around. Her spirit and smile lit up a room when she walked in. My heart goes out to the family and friends. I was there with Velina until EMS arrived. I had just left my grandmother's apartment after cleaning it out because of her recent death. As I stood there in disbelief I asked God for strength and I was able to say a prayer for Velina. I'm still lost with words but my heart remains the same. I'm praying for you all.
