Talmadge Ray Montgomery, (affectionately known as Ray) was born January 10, 1946 in DeKalb, MS. The son of the late Pastor James C Montgomery and the late Mary Izora Montgomery. Ray gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist church of Flint, MI.
Ray joined the Marine Corp right after High School where he served for 4 years, and he was on the Marine Corp boxing team. After serving he became a Salesman in which he was the number 1, he was also known to be a great cook and his specialty was rolls and barbecue. ribs. He was a passionate chess player and loved teaching others how to play. Gardening was another of his many passions.
Ray was a wonderful Husband and father and a great teacher of the Bible. He also enjoyed being around his family.
Talmadge Ray Montgomery leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Brenda Montgomery, his daughter Shawnetta Robinson of Houma, LA, son Maurice Matthews, Houston, TX. Uncle Calvin Curtis Roberts and Everett Paul Roberts of Flint, MI and George Clark (Mel) Roberts of DeKalb, MS. Ray had 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 7 Sister-in-laws and 3 Brother-in-laws and a host of nieces, cousins, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Ray was proceeded in death by his Father Pastor James C Montgomery and his loving mother Mary Izora Montgomery.
