Susan Helen Williams (née Marx) was born on July 21, 1947 in Sawyer, Michigan. She passed on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Redford, MI at the age of 78.

Susan grew up in Sawyer, MI with her parents, Henry & Evelyn, and her siblings Charles, Marilyn, and Karen. Sawyer is a picturesque beach town located on the shores of Lake Michigan. She was the second born child and the oldest daughter.

After Susan graduated from high school she worked for a year as a waitress at a truck stop on Red Arrow Highway, determined to afford classes at Lake Michigan College. Eventually she transferred from LMC to Central Michigan University where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and social work. After her daughters were born, Susan returned to school at Wayne State University where she earned a Master's degree in licensed practical therapy. She worked for the State of Michigan for almost 40 years first as a case worker to vulnerable adults and later as part of the Bureau of Regulatory Services. Her work was extremely important to her and she was committed to the safety of her clients.

Susan married Bruce Clark in Mount Pleasant, MI in January 1972. Susan and Bruce welcomed daughter Lois during their marriage. Susan married Willie Williams in September 1985. Susan and Willie welcomed daughter Kristin during their marriage.

Susan loved reading historical fiction, tending to her flower garden, aerobics, traveling, watching old movies and spending time with her family.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Evelyn (neé Olsen) Marx; siblings: Charles and Marilyn.

Susan will be remembered by her daughters: Lois and Kristin; Granddaughters: Ameena, Jasmine, and Ah'yannah; and 4 great-grandchildren.
