Sharon Johnson of Sterling Heights, Michigan was born on March 3, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. She passed peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 84. . Loving mother of Jay (Andrea) and grandmother of Kaitlin and Xander Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ruth Monrad, beloved husband of 50 years, Wayne Johnson and her brother Richard Monrad.

She graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1959. She attended Michigan State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and was a member of Phi Mu. She continued her education at Saginaw Valley State University where she earned her Masters degree in the Art of Teaching in 1981. She worked in Van Dyke Public Schools as a second grade teacher until she retired in 2000 to fulfill her dream of living a ‘snowbird’ life of living half the year in Michigan and the other half in Florida.

Sharon loved to spend her time with family and friends, going up north, golfing, swimming, singing in the choir, attending MSU football games and eating desserts. She will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her. At this time, there will not be a service but a celebration of life at a future date.
