Scott Dale Rader, 67, of Ira Township, Michigan, passed away on April 18, 2026.
Scott spent over 40 years working in the restaurant industry as a dedicated pizza maker and manager, earning the respect of coworkers and customers alike through his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. To many, he was simply known as the “pizza god.”
Outside of work, Scott had a deep passion for music. He was a talented guitar player and songwriter who wrote more than 30 songs and performed live at venues throughout the years, including a show in Canada that he jokingly referred to as part of his “world tour.”
Scott was known for his sharp memory—often recalling moments and stories from as early as two or three years old with remarkable clarity. He had a quick wit, a one-of-a-kind sense of humor, and a collection of unforgettable phrases that could catch anyone off guard and leave them laughing. He was never afraid to speak his mind, stand up for his beliefs, and encouraged others to do the same.
He was an avid knife collector and enthusiast, a supporter of the Second Amendment, and enjoyed going camping whenever he got the chance. Most of all, Scott valued independence, authenticity, and living life on his own terms.
Above everything else, Scott was a proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Brandon (Trin) Rader, and his beloved granddaughter, Jenny, who meant the world to him. His pride in his family was evident to everyone who knew him. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce, and brother, Donn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Wilbur Rader.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strength, humor, music, and the way he lived life unapologetically his own way.
