Sam Bowles aged 76 passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 in Belleville, MI. Sam Bowles was born on August 2, 1948 in LaGrange, GA. Sam was the third child and eldest son of Forest and Mary Bowles. Sam never married. When Sam was in elementary school the family moved to Ypsilanti, MI. Sam graduated from Ypsilanti High School and shortly after was drafted into the Vietnam war. Sam proudly retired from Eastern Michigan University. Sam loved to fish. Sam enjoyed political debates and he studied Liberal Arts for two years at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Sam was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother James Bowles who died very young. Sam is survived by his two children; Juanlisa (Jerrod) Monroe and Tyzedd (Terri) Bowles, siblings; Wylene, Vingie, Lena, Michael, and Gary, eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Sam will be held on June 22, 2025 at 2pm. Services will be held at Riverside Park 2 E. Cross St. Ypsilanti, MI 48197
