Obituary For Sally Elizabith Buchler

Sally Elizabith (Reed) Buchler was a loving Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend to many. Sally, 76, of Hillman, MI, passed away Monday, July 12,2021 surrounded by her children at The Haworth Center in Farmington Hills, MI, where she resided since March of 2019. Born November 9, 1944 in Detroit; she was the daughter of George Reed and Caribel Warren (both deceased). She married Gordon Buchler Sr. on March 14, 1970, who preceded her in death. While a native of Detroit, Sally and her husband moved to Livonia in 1979 where she raised their five children. Sally wore many hats, a loving wife, homemaker, mother, but she didn't stop there. She also helped her sisters with their babies. Everyone would always say, "If there were two great loves in her life, it was her loving husband and babies!" They always enjoyed attending Unity Lutheran Church in Detroit, which is where she converted from Cathlic to Lutheran. In 2005, Sally and her husband retired and moved to Hillman MI to their wonderful ten acres of property and house they dreamed of. Many fond memories were made there with farming, Lake Avalon, and visits from their children with their families. Sally enjoyed writing letters, sending out cards for all occasions, crafts, and of course, holding the babies. She and her husband gained a new love for traveling the State of Michigan with it's beautiful lighthouses, Branson, Missouri, Florida, and their ultimate trip, Alaska. Sally is survived by her daughters Mary Budd, Alice Buchler, Rebecca DeGrand (fiance' Dennis Dees), son Gordon (Rhonda) Buchler Jr., and SallyAnn (Gene) OBrien; grandchildren Meagan (Jammal), Danielle, Benjamin, Timothy, Amanda (Dominick), Jonathan, Erin, Jacob (Caitlin), Alex, Diana, Kathleen, Drew, Victoria, Thomas, Trinity, Autumn; great-grandchildren Joshua, Sophia, Landon, Amya, Ariah, Ayden, Jaxson, Charlotte, and Keiko'Leigh; sisters IRene Botkins, Dorothy Bliss, Nancy (Opie) Nimon, Diana (David) Jolly, Caribel (Robert) VanEvery, and brother Gordon (Natalie) Warren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and adoring friends. She was preceded in death by sisters; Carol Purdy and Patrica Wofford. The family will receive family and friends from 4-8 on Friday July 16, 2021 at Fisher Funeral Home 24501 Five Mile Rd Redford, MI 49239, where services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday July 17, 2021.
