Ruby May Williams (nee Bard), 93 of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born to Marjorie (nee Whitcher) and Leo Bard on December 13, 1932, at home in Niskayuna, NY. She was raised on her family’s farm until she was 8 years old, then moved to the Detroit area where she lived until she met her loving husband, Joseph Williams. They were married in 1951 and raised four children in the Dearborn Heights, Michigan area. Ruby worked as a seamstress until she retired.

Ruby loved gardening and landscaping her beautiful home. She was a master at crafting ideas and loved being creative. Her favorite hobby was crocheting. She made various afghans and Christmas tree skirts for family members as well as selling her prized creations. She enjoyed playing bingo and canasta, and going to garage sales, along with trips up north to the cabin. She cherished her family and loved to cook Sunday dinners. Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding was a family favorite. Her family especially enjoyed her made from scratch fudge and cinnamon rolls. She treasured her China cabinet filled full of family heirlooms.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula McLeod and grandchildren, Pamela (Kevin) McLeod, Kristen (Andrew) Smetek, Susan Zellers and Eric Williams, as well as her great grandchildren, Duke and Evelyn Zellers, Valentine McLeod and Susie Bradley and her sister, Norma Cole.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joesph L Williams, sons, Daniel Williams and Joseph A Williams, daughter, Connie Williams and grandson, Joseph L Williams, her sister, Dorothy Mounsey, as well as her Cocker Spaniel, Sandy and her granddog, Izzy.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 10am at St Linus Catholic Church located at 6466 N. Evangeline St, Dearborn Heights, Mi.

Celebration of Life immediately following the service at Mexican Fiesta located at 24310 Ford Rd, Dearborn Heights, Mi.
