Obituary For Occie Holloway

Mr. Occie Ezra Holloway-Henry of Oak Park, Michigan transitioned to eternal life on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Southfield, Michigan. Mr. Holloway was born Saturday, July 10, 1971 at Detroit, Michigan to the late Ezra Henry & Helen Holloway, his grandparents; the late Ezra Henry Sr. & Maggie Evaline Blanchard-Henry and the late Occie & Benson & Lovie Miller-Benson.

Mr. Holloway attended the Gospel Church of Faith at which his brother and sister- in love are the Shepherds. Mr. Holloway served as the security officer at the Church. He completed his education both in Chicago, Illinois & Irving, Texas. He later went on to complete several technical programs with certifications in sound communication & computer technology. His latest interest being that of the stock market. During the Covid pandemic, Mr. Holloway worked for a couple of security firms.

Mr. Holloway never married or had children, but he truly loved his nieces & nephews from whom brought him great joy and happiness. He had a passion for motorcycles and grew up riding minibikes and dirtbikes. Occie had a love for “good old down-home cooking” or what we probably refer to as “soul food”. Occie was known to have family & friends laughing and was known for his smile that brightened any room he entered and wouldn't be a stranger upon leaving. He was known for his “heart of gold”. If he had it and you needed it - it was yours. Known to do anything he could for his family. He touched the lives of many and will be truly and deeply missed.

Mr. Occie is survived by four “special” women in his life; Helen, Darlene Price/Henry Miller, Dee Benson & Jackie Carter as well as sister, Lucretia Holloway of Baltimore, Maryland, four brothers; Anthony E. (Karon) Henry, Sr., Daryl E. Henry, Ezra (Max) Henry, all of Michigan & Michael D. Collins of Houston, Texas. He leaves two “Special” uncles; Richard (Dee) Benson, Randolph Wingo & Ronald (Pamela) Wingo, both of whom are deceased. His “special aunt, Carolyn (the late Leon) Scott, his late aunts; Delois, Denise & Terry Wingo. He leaves an array of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, ”special" cousins; Chavaras Benson of Phoenix, Arizonia & Rod Williams along with many other relatives & friends.
