  Joseph Rice

  One of my memories of Michelle was when she surprised me with a beautiful collection of vintage Blue Willow platters and serving dishes that she had bought antiquing when she and her husband Doug went out of town for a weekend. She knew that I was an avid collector of the pattern and she didn't hesitate to make the purchase because she knew that it would make me happy. I also remember Michelle and I ( along with her loving husband, Doug) spending several years gardening together and I was always fascinated by her deep knowledge of the many plants that she grew and her garden was a joy to be in. Michelle was selfless, gracious and always eager to help. She was self-confident , an avid reader, articulate, highly knowledgeable about not only her professional field of work but everything else she studied, loved cats, her garden, her home; she was just an amazing person and I was always in awe of her, in all respects. During the summer, we would sit on her back porch and spend an afternoon or an early evening just talking about anything in general and nothing on particular. She was an avid Mahjong player and I learned the fine art of the game by her patient instructions and tutelage. For over 12 years, my partner Jeff and I rented the carriage house from Michelle and Doug and it was home. What began as a business relationship overtime evolved into a more familial relationship and in the end there wasn't anything that we wouldn't do for each other. It's sad how life moves on but the good memories are what matters the most and I have nothing but good memories of Michelle.

  Mike Williams

  I remember attending Christmas parties and garden parties for the free booze and grub and for the possibility of watching the deceased have a meltdown the more she drank! Good times, good memories.

  Pat and Bill Fraser

  We were so sorry to learn of Michelle's death. She was kind and generous. When she learned of Bill's interest in bees, she gave us some bee dishes and made a beautiful needlepoint with an Irish blessing for us. We remember fondly the many gatherings with Frank, Jim, Nadine and Myra. Michelle was a wonderful hostess. Our condolences to Doug on the loss of his wife, Pat and Bill Fraser
