Marilyn Ann Lessnau (MacDonald) was called home to Jesus on Monday, January 16, at the age of 73. She entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving husband and daughter.

Marilyn was born in Southwest Detroit on August 7, 1949 and resided in the Knoxville area of Tennessee for a large part of her life. Marilyn returned to Michigan in 2013, where she lived until her passing. A graduate of Saint Gabriel High School, she went on to obtain degrees in both nursing and healthcare administration.

Marilyn was a joyful lifelong learner and talented artist. She expressed her creativity through many mediums and was known for her delicious cooking and baking. Marilyn was also a woman of deep faith. Dedicated to her spiritual growth, she most recently was studying to become a Minister with the Temple of Praise International Church.

Marilyn’s commitment to and love of family was everything to her. She is survived by her husband Donnie, her daughter Annette, her grandson Garrett, her sisters Angela (Gary Marshall), Karen (George Bugeja), brother Angus Clyde, her husband’s daughters Katie (Ulises Silva) and Stephanie (David Davis), and her beloved pets Nicky, Molly, and Zelda.

    Our sincere sympathies. Marilyn was such a beautiful spirit, full of love and caring. I have a cute angel she had made me, she was such a talent. I will miss our chats and she would share recipes with me, the best one was an apple pie made with whiskey! She could really make pies!!! Marilyn will be missed but I know we will see each other one day in heaven. RIP sweet soul.
