Surrounded by her loving family, Lynn Ingram Ewing passed away on February 23, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Lynn was born on September 11, 1946, in Macon, Georgia, to the late William Howard Ingram and Elizabeth Free Ramsey.
Lynn graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1964. She lived in Taiwan while her former husband, W. DePrez Ewing, served as a Captain in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. Lynn loved traveling in Asia, and it was there that she developed her affinity for Asian decor and art.
Lynn moved to Shelbyville, Indiana, in 1972 where she raised her children. She was a senate minority receptionist for the state of Indiana, modeled for L.S. Ayres and Company and was a member of Tri Kappa. In 1999, Lynn went back to her southern roots, living in Lawrenceville and St. Marys, Georgia. In 2015, she moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, to live near her son, Chris, and his family.
Lynn enjoyed art, music, theater, travel and spending time with her family. She had an exceptional eye for design, and her home was filled with the beautiful things she collected throughout her life. Lynn was known for her beauty, elegance and sense of style. She was fond of the water, in particular spending time in Harbor Springs, Michigan, and St. Marys, Georgia.
Lynn loved a good party -- dancing and laughing with friends. Lynn was a devoted and affectionate mother and grandmother. She accepted and loved her children and grandchildren wholly and unconditionally. Incredibly proud of her grandchildren, they gave her tremendous joy. She was a loving mother who always put her children first.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jeff Roberts, and her former husband, W. DePrez Ewing. She is survived by her children Chris (Emily) Ewing, Todd (Melissa) Ewing; grandchildren Daniel Ewing, Mary Ewing, Caroline Ewing and Adelyn Primavera; and sister, Sherri Crum (George) as well as many cousins, extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lynn’s name to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or to the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF).
