Obituary For Janet Marie Borowitz
In loving memory of Janet Marie (Gildenpfennig) Borowitz, 71, of Harsens Island, Michigan, who passed away the evening of October 31, 2024, surrounded by her three children.
Janet was born July 25th, 1953, to Harold and Dolores Gildenpfennig and grew up in Berkley, Michigan. She was later married to the late James Borowitz on April 8, 1972 and they were blessed with three children: Jim, Jenny and Jessica. Janet enjoyed cooking, gardening, game shows, and rooting for the Lions and Spartans.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband James Borowitz, and her parents Harold and Dolores Gildenpfennig.
She is survived by her three children, Jim Borowitz (Andrea), Jenny Loeffler (Daniel), and Jessica Borowitz (Mike); her grandchildren Natalie Borowitz, Olivia Byrnes, Amelia Loeffler, James Borowitz and Josephine Loeffler; her brothers Mark Gildenpfennig (Debbie), David Gildenpfennig and Jeff Gildenpfennig (Mary); her sister (in-law) Joann Winkler as well as Chris Yntema, Zachary Yntema and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Janet was loved by many.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2025 at the Harsens Island Lions club. Date and time TBD.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children
