Obituaries

Hymes, Gary Michael, a resident of Canton, passed on February 14,2025 at the age of 75. He was born to the late Francis & Eldonia (Smith) Hymes of Redford Twp. on February 24,1949.

He leaves behind, his cherished sons Michael (Betsy) Hymes and Matthew (Cathy) Hymes

His most adored grandchildren AJ, Ezra and Estella.

His beloved siblings, Jacqueline Hymes, Fred (Sheila) Hymes, Julie McGrann, Joanne (Roy) Dixon, Dan (Sally) Hymes and Christopher (Nicole) Hymes. Several neices and nephews, great neices and nephews who adored him and lots of cousins that he enjoyed spending time with.

Gary was a Vietnam veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart for his service in the Army. He found pleasure in his retirement years by traveling, walking and indulging in his art work. He most loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching AJ play hockey.

A celebration of his life will be held on March 1,2025 at the Uptown Grill in Walled Lake.

Donations can be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
