Erek Wayne Bunn, of Montrose, Michigan, passed away on April 30, 2026, at the age of 50.
Born on February 26, 1976, in Flint, Michigan, Erek lived a life defined by hard work, and being unapologetically himself. He was straightforward and spoke his mind, earning the respect of those who knew him for always being brutally honest.
Erek worked as a truck driver and took great pride in providing for his family. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on old cars, and playing pool. He also loved cooking and could often be found watching football, especially cheering on the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan.
He took pride in the simple things especially his lawn, which he kept just the way he liked it. He had a signature saying that perfectly captured his confidence and spirit: “I look good, I smell good, I am good.”
Above all, Erek was a father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Ereka (Fadi) Bunn, and his son, Anthony Bunn; his beloved grandchildren, Gavin Hurley, Raelyn Bunn, Elias Antone, Lyla Holmes, and Nayeli Bunn; his sister, Lisa Bunn; his brother, Jamie Bunn; his grandfather, Bruce Bunn; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Morgan; his father, Bruce Bunn; his brother, Bruce Bunn; his daughter, Tyesha Kemp; and his son, Josiah Holmes.
Erek will be remembered for his strength, his humor, his honesty, and the way he lived life on his own terms. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Erek will be laid to rest beside his children at Meadowview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Davison, Michigan, on June 20, 2026 at 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Richfield Park directly after. He was cremated in a private, direct service.
