David Gregg Jr. passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 66, with his beloved wife of 29 years, Kathleen Gentry, by his side. A devoted husband, step-father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, David leaves behind a legacy of love and loyalty.
Born on August 12, 1958, in Newport, Oregon, David moved to Michigan with his parents, David and Shirley Gregg (both preceded in death), and his brother, Matthew Gregg (also preceded in death). He is survived by his children, Rachel Gentry and William Gentry, along with his six grandchildren: Angelica Gentry (preceded in death), Aaron Campbell, Brandon Campbell, Faith Gentry, Arihanna Gentry, and Devin Gentry, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished his presence.
David worked as a commercial carpenter, proudly following in his father’s footsteps. His passions included riding motorcycles with wife Kathleen, fishing, yelling about our politicians and most of all, spending time with his family.
While David will be deeply missed, his memory lives on in the joy and laughter he shared with all who knew him. He would not want us to mourn him forever, but rather to live life to its fullest, as he often reminded us: “
That tomorrow is never promised and we must live on for those we love who cannot.”
May his spirit inspire us to live with the same care, life lessons, and love that he showed to everyone around him (well sometimes 😉)
