Darwin Cary Ivery was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 16, 1964 to Betty Mae Walker and Oscar Jenkins.

Darwin attended Murray-Wright HS. He loved working on cars quickly becoming the neighborhood mechanic. He was known in the neighborhood as “Doc”. He had two children with his high school sweetheart and later went on to marry and have another child. He spent the last years of his life caring for his mother.

Darwin passed away on May 31, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father Oscar and his younger brother Maurice “Reese”. He is survived by his loving mother: Betty, his wife: Sarah, three children: Antonio, Sharí and Leila, two granddaughters: MaKenzie and Myracle, two siblings: Seberna and Darryl, bonus sister: Nina, and a number of uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who provided support and kindness throughout the years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Though deeply missed, he will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved him.
