Obituary For Damon Gordon Fisher

Damon Gordon Fisher was born on November 22, 1971, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, to Alvin and Bettye Fisher, both of whom preceded him in death. Damon was baptized at New Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Detroit, where his foundation of faith began. He peacefully passed away on July 16, 2026.

At the age of 16, Damon relocated from Detroit to Lansing, Michigan, where he lived with his brother Randy. He attended school in Lansing and discovered his passion for the culinary arts while working in several local restaurants. His talent and dedication led him to become a respected sous chef at the Marriott. Damon also worked at Orchid Orthopedics and American Rheinmetall, where he built many lasting friendships. He earned the respect of his coworkers through his friendly nature, strong work ethic, and dependable character. Never one to shy away from hard work, Damon later followed his entrepreneurial spirit by establishing a successful landscaping and snow removal business.

Damon had a deep love for fishing and was an avid firearms enthusiast. He was equally known for his impeccable sense of style. Whether wearing a sharp hat, fine linen clothing, or polished shoes, Damon believed in dressing to the nines. He carried himself with confidence, class, and pride, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Those who knew Damon will remember his infectious sense of humor, his generous spirit, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a caring neighbor, a loyal friend, and a devoted family man whose kindness and laughter brightened the lives of many.

Damon was a loving father to Cheyenne Elizabeth Fisher and Damon Elijah Fisher. He was a proud grandfather to Elijah, Aria, Kaia, Juno, and Winslow, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his brothers, Armond (Marian) and Randy ; his lifelong "day one" friend, Eddie Galloway; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though Damon is no longer with us in person, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for the love he shared, the values he instilled, his unwavering loyalty to family and friends, and the countless memories that will continue to bring comfort, strength, and smiles for generations to come.

I worked with him. Seriously the nicest man I've met in recent years. Always greeting people with a smile and a joke. Always interested in how I was doing. The world lost a real one. My condolences to his family.

I love you and I'm going to miss you Uncle Damon. I wish we got to spend more time together but I'm glad we spent time together at the family reunion last year and your bbq. I'll NEVER forget seeing you when you would come to the city and you would say "where the party at nephew, where we going?" Lol Love your nephew, Raphael
