Obituary For Curtis Hooker Wooten

At present there are no services planned.

Curtis was born November 13, 1950 to the union of Gladys Wooten and Eunice Hooker in North Carolina. He attended public school until graduation. After graduation he joined Job Corp to help him build a skill before later drafting to the United States Army where he served for years until he was honorably discharged. In the early 90's he became a truck driver transporting merchandise from state to state.

Curtis's hobbies were cooking and taking his grandbabies to the store. That man loved his grandbabies to the point of no return.

He loved and adored his grandbabies they never did wrong in his eyes and those babies loved their papa.

Woo was a man of fun, laughs and great dance moves. He loved being around family and kept a smile on his face and just about everyone around him.

In 2005 Curtis and Angelina met on Glynn Court and ever since that day they have been together and rocking!! They later married on February 20, 2018 in Detroit, Michigan.

God called him home on the afternoon of Friday, April 7, 2023. He is no longer in pain and is away from all of the hurt. His presence will be greatly missed because he was most definitely loved.

Mr. Wooten is survived by his wife Angelina, his two daughters, Sharon Wooten, Maryanna Ross-Gladys of Detroit, his son Loreal Young of New Orleans. Four grandchildren; Jaylen, Aniyah, Aryanna and Jazya. One Brother Nardo of Detroit, Two sister-in-laws, Martrilla and Kathryn of Detroit. Four close cousins Whilemina Mansfield, Norma J. Poems and Remarks

Papa, we miss everything about you and will always hold a great space in our hearts for you. Love you forever; Aniyah, Aryanna and Choc (Jazya)

To My Grandpa; From the hospital bed to the football field you've been here. Not one moment can I remember me needing you and you were not there. You have been a great example of a role model and Granddad. Never crossing judgement, just being where you need to be when you were needed. Thank you for showing me how to be a man. Forever your Jaylen

When I have been lost you have found the words to help find me. You were my rock when I needed stability and my protector sense day one. You could never tell him I was not his daughter and I stood ten toes right behind him. We had our laughs, we had our cries but beyond all of that we had each other, always and forever. I love you and will keep holding it down for you. Sincerely your child, Mickey <3

Revelations 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me. Write blessed are the dead which die in the lord from henceforth: Yea saith the spirit that they may rest from their labors : and their works do follow them.
