Obituary For Bernadine Mary Krol

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt

Bernadine Krol, age 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. A resident of Westland, Michigan, she was born in Detroit and lived a life marked by strong faith, a warm heart, and deep devotion to her family—values she carried with grace throughout her years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene J. Krol, and her cherished son, Eugene J. Krol.

She is survived by her devoted daughter-in-law, Marilyn Krol. Bernadine was a proud and loving grandmother to Blaise E. Krol (Sarah), Laura R. Przysiecki (Brad), and Dawn K. Dirkx (Jason). She took great joy in her role as great-grandmother to Carys, Blaise, Sierra, Braden, Ty, Sydney, and Samuel.

Bernadine is also survived by her brothers Al Jankowiak (Lynn), Cam Jankowiak, and Gerard Jankowiak (Gloria).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Helen Jankowiak, her dear brothers Blaise, Marcel, Ron, and Cyril Jankowiak, and her beloved sister Teresa Quinn.

A graduate of Mercy High School, Bernadine worked for over 30 years on the assembly line at Cadillac, building engines and chassis, before retiring at the age of 70. A woman of deep faith, she was a devout Catholic whose beliefs were the foundation of her life.

Bernadine loved spending time with her family and friends—whether enjoying a good book, a lively card game, or cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events. A lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers, she also remained active in her church club and occasionally enjoyed a trip to the casino. Her sharp mind, impeccable memory, and warm laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Catholic Mass and memorial service will be held to celebrate Bernadine’s life and legacy. Details will be shared soon.
