
Anita (Kay) Grigg, 84, of Farmington Hills, Michigan passed away on July 21, 2023 after a year of health challenges. Kay was born on July 9, 1939 to Ruby and Charlie Vaughn in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Redford High School, she went on to get her Bachelors of Education from Eastern Michigan University. Kay was a teacher at Hilbert Jr High in the Redford School District, teaching English and Home Economics. She was loved by students and kept many of her letters and gifts from them. Kay also worked for a time at a Cadillac dealership in Ann Arbor in the leasing department. During a hiatus from teaching, she received a nursing degree from Schoolcraft College and worked as an LPN at Sinai Grace Hospital. Kay married Martin (Gil) Davis and had one son who was very precious to her, Glenn Davis. After separating from Gil, she married Harold Grigg in 1985. Both Harold and Glenn predeceased Kay. Kay enjoyed watching tennis and NASCAR racing (which she learned to love from her father Charlie). She loved reading, movies, animals, and music. She also enjoyed collectables and eating out with friends and family. Kay is survived by first cousins Patty Pantano and Charlotte Vincent, along with Patty’s children Lisa Bellora, Patrick Pantano and their children Melody Bellora Edmondson, Emma Barraza, Pascal Leighfield-Pantano and Alia Leighfield-Pantano, as well as many dear friends and neighbors. Memorial Services will be held at Fisher Funeral Home at 24501 Five Mile Road, Redford Township, MI 48239 at 10 o’ clock on August 25, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests sending donations to animal rescue shelters in Kay’s name.
